2K Games has welcomed a seasoned producer from Respawn Entertainment to direct the development team at their internal studio, which is currently crafting the forthcoming over-the-shoulder roguelike extraction-shooter known as Project Ethos.

Brinkman steps into the leadership position at 31st Union following the exit of former leader the ex-Sledgehammer Games executive, who was reportedly let go due to the game's disappointing early showing last autumn.
Recently, 2K president a key figure informed team members about this organizational change through an internal memo, which stressed that early feedback sessions had revealed the need for a distinct game identity.
The president stated that the developers is now refining Project Ethos with a renewed focus, aiming to address gamer demands.
A Pattern of Strategic Recruitment
The news echoes a similar move taken by the publisher in August, when they hired Rod Fergusson from Blizzard to assist with the BioShock development group.

Project Ethos was unveiled in last year in conjunction with a early access event. Initially, 31st Union presented the game as a "no-cost, third-person perspective action-packed experience and an exciting evolution on the category."
